eDiets is probably the largest diet plan service on the internet, and is widely used by many. eDiets set the gold standard for customized diet plans when it first came out, but has been eclipsed by a number of the newer competitors. If you are looking for a specific brand name diet like: Atkin's Diet, Bob Greene Diet, Mediterranean Diet, of the Glycemic Impact diet, eDiets is the only one who can offer these to you.
When we signed up at eDiets we really felt like the site was designed purely to make money, rather than offering us the best weight loss experience. Don't get me wrong, their service is still one of the best, but their revenue-generating goals seem to have taken away from the user experience. Here's a couple things we noticed: Rather than asking us questions and recommending a specific diet plan based on our options, they always recommend the "eDiets Plan". This is probably to save money on their licensing fees with Atkin's and the other diet plans. Then, once we did sign up, before we could get to our diet, we had to click through about 5 pages trying to sell us more stuff. Once we are in, the member site is very cluttered and its unclear what we need to do to get started.
eDiets is still a worthy service, with fair prices and quality diets. Compared to our top sites, eDiets really struggles to compete in the user experience category.
